On the Twelfth Day of Christmas, my true love gave to me twelve drummers drumming. Drummers really set the pace for the marching band or any other. They are suppose to follow the conductor’s lead but I guess if anywhere there could be a musical revolt it would be with a drum line. The twelve drummers drumming are thought by some to symbolize the twelve vital Christian beliefs of the Apostles Creed.
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost;
the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
Our lives show our creeds. Sounds like a good introduction to some introspection……knowing it may lead to an epiphany is motivation for me. Tomorrow is Epiphany, January 6th. So that doesn’t give us too much time for introspection! I’ll just tackle one of the tenets of the creed today.
Happy 12th day of Christmas to you!
Hugs, Mimi
