St. Patrick's Day is only one week away! Do you have your green ready? I do! But if the weather continues like the present, an inch of snow and 26, I may momentarily regret shrinking out of my green wool trousers. Momentarily....Anyway, this newly added section to his prayer is powerful. As milk and cookies does a body and soul good, meditating on this will uplift your spirit! I "bind unto myself today" may sound a wee bit odd to your ears, no matter the color. "I arise today" "I confess today " also convey the idea.
I bind unto myself today
the power of God to hold and lead,
His eye to watch, His might to stay,
His ear to hearken to my need,
The wisdom of my God to teach,
His hand to guide, His shield to ward,
The word of God to give me speech,
His heavenly host to be my guard.
I am sure that I will at some point in my day today need every attribute of God identified in this section of the prayer.
