We have had an ongoing science experiment this summer—issuing a formal invitation to Charlotte the 16th to continuing building her web in her choice of location.
Hello! My name is Charlotte the XVI and though I prefer to live in barns,
there was not one available. Besides, what a view I have from this deck!!!
I am an invited and treasured guest so please do not disturb me!
( I live on the deck off living room.)
Feed me! Feed me! Feed me! If you turn on the deck light after dark, you may watch God’s creative hand in action—me catching delicious morsels {squitoes a la crème, moths marinara, and ufos, unidentified flying objects for spiders} which help me grow.
We have thoroughly enjoyed watching Charlotte the XVI this summer. Rural residents are easily entertained. I have taken enough pictures to make a scrapbook for her but I realize her time is coming to an end. To observe the intricacies of her movement and the wrap up of large ‘dinners’ has been truly delightful. The size of her web is smaller now. It's about time for Wilbur and I to have a good cry.
Her seasons in life are brief compared with ours. Are you making the most of this season in your life?
Just a little question from a friend who is thoroughly convinced of John 10:10(“I have come to bring you life, life to the full.") and who knows most of us need a little nudging every one in awhile.
Maybe there's time for one last photo.
Hugs all around,
Mimi
